River Cruising is Effortlessly Amazing

Some of the most beautiful and interesting regions of Europe are best and most easily seen from a river cruise.

River cruises to visit any region are a delightfully, laid-back way to experience an area of the world.  You unpack once, relax and shift into enjoying the learning, the seeing and the experiencing!

The Rhine Valley is beautiful and the Rhine River is one of Europe’s major rivers.  It begins in Switzerland and flows in a mostly northerly direction through Germany and the Netherlands, emptying into the North Sea.  Along the Rhine, sit back and watch stunning landscapes including shells of castle ruins, terraced vineyards and the spires of old stone churches, slip by from the deck or your stateroom balcony, glass of wine or cup of coffee in hand.

Onshore you can choose your level of involvement and activity.  You can follow an interesting , guide led walking tour, piddle around town yourself and find a spot to have a lovely lunch or you can hike or bike along lovely little paths or quaint cobblestoned streets -be as active as you choose!  Each port has its own unique options.

While the Rhine is over 800 miles long, the 36-mile stretch from Mainz to Koblenz is by far the most interesting. This is the Romantic Rhine and it travels through a deep and scenic gorge.  It is lined with over 40 castles, quaint European villages and breathtaking scenery.
